For most of its 78 years as a functioning railway station, the Barry’s Bay Station was a busy community hub serving the transportation and communication needs of the citizens and businesses in the village and surrounding townships. The railway employees who worked, and sometimes lived, in the station, were the public face of the railroad and they played essential roles in the life and development of the community.
